Long ago, on the planet Brakaam, dragons roamed the land and gods and goddesses ruled. Every ten thousand years, the dragons would leave the planet for reasons unknown. Was it something the first dragons did?; was it a wish of the gods?; who knows. Shortly after returning from the Place, there was a great storm. All of the dragons had to flee to the mountain caves and wait it out. When it was over, a mother and father, mother red, father black, found that their nest and three of the five eggs in it had been destroyed. The other ones, a red egg and a black egg, were lost. Upon closer inspection, the black egg was found, pierced by a rock, but the red egg was nowhere to be found. Luckily it was safe, and the father found it. What he didn't know was that it had been blown into a nest of good gold dragon eggs, and the essence of the good god Shimach purified the heart of the otherwise evil red dragon. Before he returned, he cast a spell upon the red egg to make it black, for he wanted only dragons of his color, black, as offspring. When the father returned to the spire on which he and his mate, Swiftwing, shared, he, a dragon named Death, complained about losing three, and basically four, eggs. Swiftwing argued with him, and Death chased her of the spire, and later killed her.
